# Test mode

> ld_test_ vs ld_live_ and dashboard JWT App Keys.

`ld_test_…` vs `ld_live_…` is the public-key split. Dashboard JWT App Keys have no test/live prefix; they are the current merchant credential.

## Today (gen-1 MVP)

* There is **no** self-serve `ld_test_` issuance. `POST /appkeys` mints JWT.
* `ld_test_` / `ld_live_`, when issued, share the same public routes and the same per-key limiter.
* Gen-1 does **not** isolate test traffic onto a sandbox dataset. Do not assume a test key cannot touch live wallet or gift-card money until that isolation ships.

## Schema

Use the same [`openapi.public.json`](/openapi.public.json) in test and live. No separate test host is published for the public product.
